3-rotor Renesis Engine Question

3-rotor Renesis Engine Question
Hi, I am currently doing a research paper on rotary engines. Is it possible to custom-build a 3-rotor Renesis Rotary Engine, to make a rough Renesis equivalent of the 20B-REW? As I see it. rotary engines seem pretty modular and easy to mod, it looks like a matter of simply stacking rotors on top of each other. I need to make sure though, and please correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks in advance!

You must not have been reading many threads on this board; the RX-8 is not an easy car mod. The big issue is the motors ECU. BUT you can custom build almost anything with enough money, time & expertise. In this case about $20,000-$40,000.

So it can't be done? I was under the impression that it is possible to build a 3-rotor Renesis engine, even with the side exhaust port. For the matter, I was wondering if it's possible to combine two Renesis 13Bs together to make a 4-rotor monster like the R26B.

Again if you have enough MONEY it can be done. You will need to re-engineer most of the car. The placement of the motor was designed for the 13B. Put in a 20B and you have to redo the engine mounts, steering, suspension. Plus build a custom exhaust, ECU, cooling & intake system. Sure it can be done, but it’s not like adding a slice of bread to a ham sandwich to make it into a Club. It would be "a little" easier to put in an older “pre Renesis” 20B but still a very expensive mod.

perhaps doing a search for 3 rotor before starting a thread would have found for you this thread https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-major-horsepower-upgrades-93/can-third-rotor-added-66636/ which was just started 3 days ago and had posts yesterday. read that one and direct your questions there. this thread is closed
