AT 3O MPH acceleration pulse??

I recently had my mazda rx 8 in for service, I have 17,000miles its a 04, and had the recent flashes done. I just want to make sure I have all of the recalls/bullitins done before my warrenty expires. Purchased 5/31/04.
Anyway, I forgot to tell them that when I am pressing on the gas around 35 mph, my car starts to feel jerky and then it goes away, and did this again yesterday (cold start). I am going to call them this afternoon for an appt., but its not something that happens all the time. In the past, I thought maybe I had bad gas or something. Would this be considered power loss? I just want to make sure I accurately describe the problem.
I have also had problems with the battery holding a charge in the winter, and had it jumped 2x last year and 2x this year. My battery light was starting to come on also, but not staying on. I had them check the battery, and it was fine (They performed the bulletin for the bad battery back on 05), but he said that one of my cables was loose. Unfortunately, the weather is better now, and I wont know until this coming winter if the problem has been truely fixed. Because I have made this an existing compliaint would I still be under warrenty this fall?
Since the upgrade my mpg has drastically increased. On the last tank of gas I got 120mile on 3/4 tank and since about 225 on 3/4 tank.
Thanks

Unfortunately, it is normal for an '04 AT to feel jerky when cold outside and just starting to drive. The fuel map and gear shift points are confused under those conditions and the car is in 4th gear without any power while cruising at 35mph - when you press the accelerator, it tries to downshift but it cannot sometimes. Solution: drive it in manual mode until engine is warm. But if driving speed is more than 45 mph (so the RPMs are above 4000, where there is some power) you can leave it in full auto mode. Or change to a high viscosity ATF (RedLine High Temp ATF) to make the tranny stiffer.
As for the battery - change it to the Optima Yellow Top (~$150) before too late. All the batteries I had so far (original plus 2 replacements) from the dealer were weak and poor quality. You don't seem to drive much based on the mileage and RX8 drains much more current at idle than other cars, hence the much better fit with the deep drain capability of the Optima.
