I'm so pissed off ATM I swear. The customer service sucks I'm eating with my gf ATM I'm on my iphone as soon as I get home I'll tell you the bs they told me.

Update:

so here is the story from the beginning. i got the at 11 am this morning, and some old lady was working at the desk where there was this other guy. was pretty cool. come to find out tony march doesnt own the place anymore. So anyways she proceeds to tell em she will get on of the tech guys to go for a ride with me and hell listen while i drive. so we took it on the freeway and they guy heard it. he said he wasnt sure what it was so hell take out the console and look at it.

He said sometimes the padding underneath the console goes bad or something so noise comes out, but it could also be with the tranny. anyways we get back to the shop. hes like ill take a look at it right away. itll only be 15-20 mins tops. and all of the sudden the old hag runs out of the office, yeah but we gonna have t charge u for it since u dont have a warranty anymore and it might not be the tranny. i asked her how much she said around 50$ i said fine. so 45 mins pass and the guy comes out and says there are 2 screws somewhere underneath the console that were loose and he didnt find anything wrong with the tranny. he said the old lady should be out with the paper work in 5 min.

15 mins later she comes out and tells me yeah they have the car on the lift its running they are trying to see if there is anything wrong from underneath.....i had the keys in my pocket and i could see the car outside the window. but i didnt say anything, i wanted to wait and see what she told me.

25 mins later she comes and says its almost ready they are washing it for you. again i look outside the window there is no one around my car. anyways this is what she wrote in the report.

a gears grinding customer to tst drive with tech
diag check for noise roadtst with tech visually
inspect upper and lower shift boots torn
300.00 to replace customer declined repair
currently

thats word for word. i drove the car and 80% of the noise is gone. but my fifth gear u can still hear it. i might be paranoid or it might be the tranny, but i really dont appriciate being lied to like she did. becauce of a shift boot my 5th gear grinds??? BS...im just confused as what to do from here, i dont want to let the old hag get away with this, i think part of it has to do is that im 21 and she thinks she can blabber anything and ill be like yes mam.

there was a guy working for honda...he was being a smart *** cause he had his honda hat and honda jacket he worked for manchester honda lol.
he dropped off his wifes mazda for a problem with the window and he said it sounds a little fishy.

so ill take any suggestion...from here

so here are pics of my "washed car"

and no that is not bird **** lol

my ripped boot i think this is what she was talking about, the cause of my gear grinding.

and this is the boot i got for Christmas from my gf. she bought it from PGraphics im gonna install it today i think

how hard is it to do it?

Let me get this right - the dealer packed rags around the boot to 'quieten' it?

OMG!!!

I'd be ready to tear some heads off if I were you.
Call Mazda and tell them what has happened, ask for a dealer with the highest rating that is somewhat close to you. I ended up going to a dealer that was 100mi away, they were very good.
When you get to the new dealer and tell them what happened at the other place, this will make anyone think twice before doing anything fishy.
On a side note, the 5th gear grinding is a synchro problem the '04's seem to 'get'. Usually the problem is more profound when the car is cooler, at least mine was. I noticed it when going from 4th to 5th at >4K. The feeling was 'crunchy' not a loud grind, just not very smooth.

Good Luck
