Ok.. Mazda just called me and again found nothing wrong.. oh well.. I'm gonna clean the MAF and run a bottle of that Red Line injector cleaner and see if that helps the hesitation i'm feeling..

I've got the same problem with my 04 mt. In first gear its really hard to go slow (around speed bumps and such) because the throttle feels like it has no response when you slightly press it. I'm wondering if its a ECU issue because it feels like their is a hesitation between when you press the gas and the fuel gets injected. On a regular car, I'd assume electrical issues but I'm still getting my head adapted to the rotary world.
I just got the car so I need to check which recalls were done and go from their.

I finally got my dealer to replace the motor mounts.
The idle feels better, and the looseness was cleaned up a little bit, but I still get a pretty bad jerk when letting off the gas or getting back on it with the car in gear. When parked, engine off, in 1st gear, I can roll the car forward and back about 1 inch. That free play is definitely what I am feeling when driving. Since the motor mounts did not solve the problem, I am thinking either the clutch plate springs are bad, or there is some play in the rear diff.
If its normal, I don't care, but it has been getting progressively worse over time, so I worry about it.
