This is a pretty noobish question: how do i recharge my ac. Summer is coming around and the ac isnt throwing freezing air anymore. Does anyone know how to do it?

If you buy a charging kit it will come with instructions.

Make sure you get one that has a pressure gauge, so you don't overcharge. Also, at least the first time you do this, get straight R-134. Not the kind that has oil mixed in, and definitely not the kind that has "special" additives.

R134A ken-x8.
If you've never done this or don't even have a clue how to do it. Don't.

Or search the internet on how to recharge an A/C system.

I say u get it checked out and have some gauges put on it if it's not blowing cold at all then u might have a prob or leak.....you def don't want to overcharge so u better b careful....if u overcharge u could run into a problem of getting liquid through the condenser and into the compressor which is not a good thing.

Not true but overcharging the system will give you higher then normal pressures and is very dangerous; doesn't cool worth a dam either.

Get a professional to work on your A/C system, an independent shop isn't likely to charge you out the butt to inspect and fill, and you get cold air. The cold air is the most important part.
