Exclamation Accelerating Problem...

Yesterday driving my 8, it was responding very well, till later in the day. I was pressing the gas and wasnt going fast...like usually does...hard to explain n understand. but ill do my best. Its an automatic '04, about 94k miles, AP exhaust. I usually drive with the shifting mode, so when im on first gear i press on the gas and it takes off fast, but yesterday i was driving normal, came to a stop, press gas and i noticed something wrong, i looked at my rmps and i was going about 12mph and my rmps were about 2-4 n going really slow on FIRST GEAR!! I got worry! i sink my foot all the way on the gas n it seemed like it was loosing power or 'choking'. there was NO strange noises coming from the engine or anything like it...so i stopped, parked, and shutoff my engine....minutes later i start the engine n drive and everything was back to normal...0_o weird...I'd like to hear some opinions on this issue, thanks. Maybe something wrong with the transmission??
