Advance Keyless Entry Question
I searched but the specific question im looking for was not found. I have an 06 and i have the advance keyless entry. Now in the manual, it says that in the case that the battery in the remote dies, you can remove the emergency key and unlock and start the car. I tried this, and the key isnt unlocking my door. Its able to lock it and openn the trunk but when i turn counterclockwise it does not unlock the door. When i turn clockwise it locks the car. What am i doing wrong here ?!
Im just asking this in the case of an emergency. I wont even be able to get in my car !!!
thanks in advance

That's odd, I've had problems with my "advanced" key and have been using the emergency key exclusively for almost a year. The black plastic piece should be sticking up when you put it in the door. It is possible your key is bent or something?

I just went outside to try it. And stilll nothing . I took the key out (with the battery still inside the remote), and tried unlocking the door. THe key should still be work even if the batterys working no ? THe key doesnt even turn. I tried flipping the key. It wont turn !! It turns to lock the car but not unlocking it. I help the remote like 1 CM away from the key hole. Nothing !!!
Help !! IM really scared if i ever have to go through this situation. I wont even be able to getn my car.

mine works for everything, sometime i start my car and go away so i lock my doors with the small key since it wont work with the button on the handle. i can lock, unlock, start, trunk with it.
