AEM is back and looking for an RX-8

AEM will continue testing and develop an air intake system for the RX-8. AEM will need your car for about 2 weeks. I anticipate both a SRS and CAS with a heat shield more than likely. If you are in hte L.A. area and are interested please contact me for details.

Ben.

Yes you will get a FREE intake.

When you are designing your system please pay close attention to how the RX-8 idles as that has been the Achilles heel of some of the other intake designs. In particular look for a rough idle and occasional stalling.

I think more people will jump if you posted what they would get for you keeping their car to test for 2 weeks.

I noticed this during earlier testing with different diameter piping.

I've done most of my testing already, so there won't be too much more dyno work.

All that I have to offer is a final product and the opportunity to work with the EMS department on a PNP for the RX-8.

Uhmm.. so basically no compensation of any kind? Other than a chance to buy the finish product? Hmmm I don't get it. Maybe to some people working with the EMS dept. on a PNP for the RX-8 is worth leaving your car to someone for 2 weeks...

I worked w/ AEM back in 97 or so and they used my Mitsu Eclipse for a CAI. Back then, they only had my car for a few days. They use your car to make the intake, dyno the car before and after, and they give you the first production intake for all the assistance you provided them.

AEM - let me know if you are still doing this.

Read that again.

You'll get an intake and the opportunity to work with the EMS dept.

Ya AEM added that part later on 310guy... not to be too nitpicky about it.. but was wondering ya know?

There was a guy a few weeks ago that asked for people to volunteer their cars for 2 weeks, and gave nothing as a compensation... as a common sense thing, this just makes no sense. :P

Wonder what the guarantee is like if they mess up the car... still get the intake, but sorry about the car? Hmmm Or is it, ok we messed up, we'll fix it, give you free intake, etc etc.... how does this work for other companies that use other people's cars as test units?

We are but there is so much more R&D now that it takes 2 weeks.

Any chance we will get first dibs on production versions even before they come out to the public???? If these intakes are anything like the Honda ones, they WILL make power.

No news at the moment. Some other applications are finishing up, so we should have some room for something fresh.

I would love to start playing with one on our RX8. A lot of people are asking for a turbo kit for the RX8, so you know they will need teh AEM to tune it
