AFR Gage Install Problems

Currently I'm trying to install an AFR gage for tuning purposes. Unfortunately the shop manual is less than clear on the exact wires for signal. Looking at the diagrams it would seem that it is one of these two: 2B or 2C on the wiring harness. However 2B gives me 2.8VDC and 2C gives me 2.4VDC. Seeing as the ideal reading out of an O2 sensor is .4 to .6 VDC i thought maybe if I set the ground wire to the 2.4V wire it would read accurately. However the gage has me on the lean side and doesn't change at all. So with all that background info I guess my question is: How am I screwing this up!?!?!
