Exclamation all lights went on

So I was driving down 696 freeway and taking a onramp about 55mph, hugging the corner and merged on to the other freeway, when the ABS, Brake Light, T/C light all came on, car drove normal, so while I was dirving I powerd down the car and turned the key back on, released the cluch and kept going.... ? anyone can tell me why this happend..

To have the

ABS light
T/C
Brake light

all on after going on a onramp doing apx. 55mph???

Bring it in and have the codes scanned. There have been a number of problems that have caused all the lights to light.

Yeesh, that's scary!

Side note: is it safe to power down the car while you're driving?

No theres no problem with powering down, only a manual, since we can cluch in and turn key and cluch out to start motor. Just you lose power steering for a split sec.

Its like if you ran out of battery and you were parked on a hill.. Roll down the hill cluch in and out with key in start and car will turn over and run.

How's the brake fluid level? Is it low?
If not check it at the dealer to see if it threw a code as the ABS system may have thrown one.

There is always a danger associated with shutting the engine and restarting in a moving car, manual or not. Like anything else it has to be done properly to be safe. Don't assume that everyone can execute this safely. When restarting, if you don't have the engine at the correct rpm for your speed and gear BEFORE releasing the clutch, you can lock up the rear tires and cause a slide or worse.

I just posted about this same problem which I too am experiencing.

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-trouble-shooting-95/abs-tcs-airbag-lights-after-hard-turn-67909/

Basically, it started happening after the last ECU flash. I have taken the same ramp before the flash at around 55 and never had the problem. The issue started after the flash. I am not sure if I have the N or M flash. I will have to check with my dealer.

As far as restarting, I have done that in the past too. Kinda weary about doing a restart on the highway, but if it is straight and no cars near, no problem. I agree with beachdog, if you pick too low of a gear, you can easily loose control.

Sounds similar to an occurence that happened to me only once... lack of information on it is here: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-trouble-shooting-95/abs-tcs-e-brake-lights-all-once-any-ideas-58122/

For what it is worth I have had no problems (I mean NONE) before or since.

I had that problem not too long ago and it was an ABS speed sensor that went out.

How many miles on your 8? Did Mazda replace it for free? This just happened to me.
