Now its quite weird..... but this apparently increases your hp by up to 35.
Weird..... i never heard of it before.....
so yeah...... just wondering if anyone has installed this on their 8's.

The Turbonator is a device that first off, puts a restriction in the airway. Secondly, it robs the air flow of kinetic energy to spin a little turbine. The speed of the air is increased, but the overall volume of air being moved has decreased.
Some claim better gas mileage, but it is because you are driving similar to driving with the throttle only part way open due to the restriction. Your milage increase will have nothing to do with better efficiency.
Bottom line - it' a gimick and RX-8 drivers are sophisticated enough to know better

CHRIST. You guys are such know-it-alls, "blocking airflow, yadda, yadda." Have any of you ever bought one? Ever dyno-test one? Sheesh. I, unlike armchair engineers, at least can speak from experience because I've used them. And they're quite effective. The trick is you have to put them in the fuel tank. One on each side of the car. They get spun by the fuel sloshing around from cornering. If you're not cornering hard, what's the point? The RX-8's not a drag car after all. The spinning ionizes the fuel and knocks out a neutron, turning Carbon16 into Carbon15 and pow, you've got 8% more potential energy.

guess most people here are putting them in backwards,,, hence all the bad gas mileage!
maybe a DIY.

^^^Sure.
Step one: Open garbage can lid.
Step two: Toss turbonator onto moldy lettuce.
Step three: Close garbage can lid. Snort though nose to clear stink from nostrils (I dont know, I do this nearly every time I close my outside garbage can. How 'bout you?)
Step four: Kick self in ***.

spinning wont inonize ****
ionizing atoms is adding/subtracting electrons not "knocking out" neutrons
#s after the name of an atom refer to the number of Protons in that atom not neutrons
i rest my case, wont even go into the carbon## = Pot. Energy yeilds part
