Anyone running without an OMP?

Just wondering if anyone is running pure premix, no OMP?

I'm currently running the Sohn adapter and considering removing the OMP altogether and sticking to premix.

I know I could probably just leave the OMP on and just unplug it, but I was wondering if anyone ripped the whole thing out and if so, how you sealed everything up (just gasket, sheet metal and screws?) and if you ran into any problems.

I know you would get codes and I am pretty sure your car would run in limp mode. There is a guy working on something like this do to the location of his Turbo to the factory OMP location. Search for his thread.

Codes are fine, I can mask those. Since the AP can control OMP levels, I'm hoping it can set them to 0 and bypass limp mode.

I'll try to find the thread.

I dont know where but I read that it is better to use the OMP. If you only run pre mix, you only get oil when the injectors are firing. So imagine what is happening when you let off the throttle at 9K RPM. Yep thats right, no fuel so no oil either.

Removal of the OMP will generate a limp mode/code that you cannot override with the AccessPORT or any other flashing tool.
The OMP must be present and plugged in, even if it is not functioning.
GTAW is working with a deletion.

And no load as well. The residual oil is probably plenty.

That said, I don't really understand the point of deleting the OMP - it works and if it is i the way of your FI fabrication, hire a better, more imaginative fabricator.

Looks like you are correct.

I agree with Dan--let pre mix be a supplement.

Yes, this is my main concern after all the EMS headaches.
Enlightening discussion. Thanks guys!

For me the idea was to remove clutter from the engine bay and just simplify the entire thing. Cleaner layout and less points of failure, especially since I already premix anyways, less things to check.

Didn't think it would cause this many issues as it's a popular mod with 7s.
