Anyone taken apar an instrument cluster?
Hi,
Has anyone had a chance to pull apart an instrument cluster yet? I don't mean simply remove it from the car...I am talking about disassembling the various components. I haven't even seen one out, so I don't know what they look like, however according to the schematics, the cluster interfaces to the PCM via a microprocessor, presumbaly over a bus of some sort. This microprocessor then handles most of the gauges, lights, etc.
I'm curious about the internal connection between the oil pressure gauge and this microprocessor. I still have not given up on the idea that we could somehow bypass the computer control and feed it a signal from a real pressure sender to get a true oil pressure gauge readout.
