Banging noise.. =( HELP!

so a few days ago my boyfriend was driving my car and when we were stopped at a red light, he let up from the brake a little and there was this banging noise and he said something was wrong but i let it go.. then today, i drove it and accelerated off and the car wasn't as loud as usual (it's stock)? and so i tried braking again at a light and letting up off the brake slowly and it was hardcore banging, haha.. i'm really pissed. now that my attention is drawn to it.. also when i drive on a straight rode, i hear it bang to. it's bad. not loud but boy it's annoying. really.. help.. idk if the engine is either flooded, my ecu needs to be reset or a transmission problem but if this has ever happened to you, please let me know! thanks!

Well... I wouldn't say that you 8 is flooded because then the engine wouldn't be running. Judging by you saying that you let up on the brake from a stop tells me that you drive an Automatic, correct? Usually manual drivers let up on the clutch.
I doubt that an ECU reset will help, but you can try. Possibly a transmission problem, but will need to know more to help narrow it down.
Do you receive a CEL at this time? (CEL = Check Engine Light)
Best bet also is to take it to the dealer. Sorry couldn't be much help!
