Batt Light plus doesn't rev up
I searched but haven't found this same thing.
Heres the deal just had 2nd gear fixed for the 2nd time. And they fix power steering, which still seems to turn left easier than right but whatever...Also changed my positive terminal for some reason not sure yet why.......Anyhow
Batt light came on. So i changed the batt, and had my alt rebuild cause the regulator was bad. Now im getting a batt light still and the car doesnt seem to wanna move to fast (like its in limp mod or something). Any advice? please help. I have a good amount of wrench time im just not good at electrica crap like this. I would rather change a motor out than spend all day trouble shooting

Check the battery connections. Make sure the posts are clean and bright, the clamps are snug, and also double-check that all the connections to the positive clamp are well-joined and corrosion-free, and make sure the wrench-monkeys didn't leave a wire hanging somewhere when they changed the positive terminal. And WHY did they do it? That could be an important clue.
As far as power steering harder in one direction -- search the tech area for threads about the power steering wiring conectors -- the originals have problem that can cause car to turn harder in one direction.

Without proper voltage, car wont rev up...it wont have the juice to throw to the coils. On a side note.. I had a corvette that did this exact thing. Voltage regulator in alternator went out, sent 25v to the ECM, killed the ECM. It ran, but in limp mode most of the time. Changed ECM, chip(sometimes kills the chip, which will destroy new ECM), and alternator and all was well.

tell the dealership to check the engine harness. but they might just ignore you, consider there are not many good techs/dealerships out there.
my dealership just replaced mine, cuz there were some short on the 12v wire. cant trace back the short (impossible anyway), so they just replaced it. +1 to my dealership and +1111111111111 to Kevin.

thanks
Well i forgot to mention they replaced the steering rack. I double check all those things. And i took it for a ride yesterday and its not to bad but it does seem alittle slower. I get 13.3vlt at idle and 14.2 at 2k rpm, also volage drops when i turn lights on is that normal? But the batt is still on after about a 20min drive weird.
This is what is crossin my mind. Lemme know what you guys think. When i sent in the alt i didnt tell them what kind of car it was for and i didnt give them my SR pulley and they used one of theres. So im thinkin they might have put the wrong size pulley and got a different reading than it should have... they say i ran out of warr cause time my car has 40,950 miles on it and its a 04, so im not sure. whats goin on.

Ok, but you would not be the first one to have their steering rack replaced when the actual culprit is in the upper connector. Seriously, there is a whole thread on this you'd do well to read -- title is "I know this has been covered", or something like that. I had the same problem of the car being harder to turn in one direction than the other. Dealer blew smoke up my butt with wheel alignments, sending me home with the same problem. Eliminating the connector (not just cleaning and reseating) was the 100% cure for me.
