Blinking CEL

Blinking CEL
Hey guys. I was just driving about a half hour ago when i ran in to something i've yet to see on my car. I drive a 2004 AT with about 30k. I was just driving and messing around and i downshifted from 3rd to 2nd. After going through that gear all the way back up to 4th, i looked a saw that i had a slow, blinking CEL. It only lasted for a few seconds and then it stopped.
My question is:
A. what could have caused it?
B. what is it telling me / should i be looking forward to a problem?
Thanks for the help and sorry if this is a repeated thread.

Its funny because my next thread was going to be asking about wether or not i should get new wires too. and also if there was anything i should be weary about while doing this on my own for the first time.
and about BHR, i was checking that out. a possibility for down the road but isn't it like 500 bucks?

might as well change your wires while you're at it.. BHR sells their own replacement spark plug wires for OEM ignition applications.. good stuff.
the complete BHR ignition conversion is $375.. a HELLUVA deal. you may just want to consider that.

thanks for the information guys. i'm considering the BHR kit. although i do kind of need the coils and plugs and they're sitting there in my garage... after that misfire i just kind of want to get them in so it doesn't happen again.
decisions, decisions...
EDIT: PM sent to charles

Install the OEM stuff, or even get some new OEM coils, and they will last you until I get your kit built.
I used to be able to point out that one could save money versus what Mazsport offered even if they had to buy OEMs to hold them over but that point is no longer valid.

EDIT: oh and btw, how long is the waiting list? it's going to be a little before i can afford the kit.
