You need As-Build data, PATS data, Pass-thru device, and latest PCM calibration.
the data is easy to get (small fee), the Pass-thru device is the tricky part. and most of the time only dealership has it *cuz its expensive*

nope. each pcm is mated to the car it came from. Now if you get ALL the wireless/security system boxs and the keys--then yes it should be a swap out. But that would be a pita to do.

Do all 2004 ecus work on other 2004-2008 cars or just 2004 ecus with Racing Beat software?
I have the later and it works on my 2005; and it worked on the previous owner's 2005. The security light on the dash flashes for a couple of minutes but no other known problems.
So, maybe you can buy a 2004 or a 2004 and get RB software.
