body panels made of ?
I know the hood and trunk are aluminium sheet, but is the rest of the body made of aluminium or just very thin sheet steel? Guess I could try sticking a magnet to it... A couple of guys and I were standing around talking over the engine bay and it was mentioned that you should keep a good hold on the hood because an errant gust could warp the hood (implied because the aluminum was so light.)....so we got to talking about body panels.

Holy thread revival!
So just to confirm all the panels.
Bonnet = aluminum (aluminium in real english )
Trunk = steel
Front fenders = steel
Rear fenders = steel
Front doors = steel
Rear doors = aluminum
Front bumper = plastic
Rear bumper = plastic
Is that about right? Just making sure as there isnt a huge benefit in replacing an aluminum panel with an FRP or wet carbon one.
