Is this brace important?
Hi guys,
So I realized this weekend that when my midpipe was installed in July, the shop decided not to put back the 2nd (farthest rear) brace that goes across the transmission/exhaust tunnel. While I welcome the weight reduction, this sounds important.
In this picture:
it's the black part with 4 holes in it just aft of the resonator.
Do I need to worry about this? They don't know where they put the part, so I'm inclined to start looking for a replacement.
Thanks!

So they found it. Turns out they didn't put it on because it gets in the way of the midpipe's rear attachment bracket. Has anyone had this issue? Is the brace structural or purely for protection of things above it?

I haven't had either of those two braces for a long time. When I cut up the trans tunnel to install a seat I cut out the section with bolt holes on one side. Didn't notice anything at all.

it reinforces the body of the car. might not notice it unless you are pushing it like crazy. for some reason I noticed it right away after a manhole "somehow" hit the last bar and took it with it.
it also helps to transfer energy in case of a side impact.
