Bringing Car Into Dealership list everything!

Alright, I'm thinking about bringing my car into the dealership because ever since I've had my 8 (since Feb) when I turn my wheel all the way til the end, there is always this loud bang sound as if my bottom hit a curb or something, or as if my tires are hitting something, but it isn't that. What I also noticed a little when I first had the 8, whenever I would brake, it would tug the steering wheel to the left a little, right now I don't even notice it anymore if it does it anymore.

So, I'm going to bring it in and tell them about that, and then get my first oil change (almost around 4000 miles is this ok, or is it too early? 5k is the mark in manual)

When I bring it in I want to get everything updated with my 8. It is an 04 Sunlight Silver RX-8 and I've read some things on here that the dealer will fix. New brake pads that will lessen the brake dust, paint rotors to get rid of the rust, N flash (I think I have M) etc etc.

What do I need to do in order to get all these updates, this all should be free correct under warranty?

If you could, give me a list of all things I should get done in order to bring my car "up to date" I read something about TBS numbers or something like that, I can't recall.

It is a list of all the TSB's and recalls for the RX-8. It should all be under warranty, but some of the stuff (i.e. brakes and rusty rotors), you may have to do a little convincing depending on your dealership.

[personal rant] Just because a TSB exists does not mean that your car will suffer from the that problem and it doesn't mean you can just walk into the dealer and demand to get something fixed that isn't broken [/personal rant]

My advice to you is to read over the TSBs.. See if any of the symptoms apply to your car. If they do take a printed copy of the TSB and say you think this may apply to your car due to whatever symptom...

Be respectful of the dealership.. often times what you this is a symptom is normal, or related to another problem. And as pr0ber said, going into a dealership expecting every TSB fixed is a really bad way to do things. Just because there is a TSB, doesn't mean YOUR car has the issue.

(For example, I bought my car used.. looked over the TSBs and found 4 issues out of the 20 or so TSBs that I thought applied.. went to the service manager and it turned out only 3 did.)

Well I had a post about my recent dealer visit, but I cant find it to update...

Good and Bad....mostly bad. I have been without my car since Monday at 7am, and they gave me a Dodge Neon....I am in agony.

1) Brake Rotor Rust- Will not fix (fine, i'll do it myself)

2) Brake Pad Squeal- FIXED (TSB, should have.)

3) Headlight Film- FIXED (New headlights? Wow.)

4) Contact Marks on Side Sill (TSB)- FIXED

5) Oil Dipstick(TSB)- Will not fix (TSB and wont fix?!)

6) Rock in Oil Cooler- Will not fix (Bad design, this sucks.)

7) Rough Idle/Stall- Claiming no problem (BS)

8) Front End Rock Chips- Will not fix

9) Fine Scratches on all rims- Will not fix

10) Sunroof noise- Claiming no problem (BS)

11) Guage cluster loose- Claiming no problem (BS)

12) Center Console button sprung- FIXED

13) Lower Body Side Flares Rock Chipped- Will not fix

14) In-Dash changer skips first 10 seconds of every song- Will not fix (BS)

I think that's it....

Does anyone else think that the front end takes rock chips really badly? Did I hear that mazda change the paint process from two coat to three coat? And if so, why?

Help....my car looks like it growing a beard!

Not expecting the dealer to, hoping that Mazda would.

They did change from a two coat paint process to a three coat, right?

What reason could they have for doing that? Durability comes to mind.

Lot of people say their 04's are chipping badly.

People suck theses days....what the hell makes people expect the unreasonable?

What part of defective material or workmanship don't people understand?

How in the Hell is Mazda responsible for a rock hitting the oil cooler?
Chips in the paint?
WTF did you expect?
Rusted rotors?
Scratches on rims?
Give me a break........

Friggin lucky you got the headlamps.....
