BWD Coils? Anyone tried them out yet??

I saw no part Number on my bwd coils. Oem was the "c" revision. Not saying what you're saying is incorrect, it's entirely b possible. But I have changed the plugs, wires, and now the coils. 37k on 09 R3. No unstable idle or anything. Last I saw ltft was only plus 3. I just can't imagine anything is wrong with the car to cause premature failure of the bwds other than the quality themselves. Oh well guess I'll find out soon haha

i did a little looking into the BWD coils. most coils are OE coils that are just reboxed, but the BWD coils are are not.
BWD = Borg Warner, which owns the company Beru, which is a german supplier of ignition parts, to BMW/Mercedes/NSU.
so the BWD coils are made in Bialystok Poland, and are unique to BWD.
i have a pair in my car, and its been fine, but its only been 12 months

BWD used to sell reboxed rx8 coils, with B revision, but starting around early 2012 I think, they made their own version, which explains the no markings and clear rubber filling at the body of the coil. I've been using them as well with 0 issue.
but I recently got myself a set of Spirit R coils (C) that's made in Japan obviously
I want to try it but my existing coil is not giving me any issues so ... dunno

I have an 04 MT, with about 75k on the motor. I tried the BWD/Intermotor coil and I'm sorry, not happy. When I purchased 4 from Autozone, they all had clear(tan) fill, except one...it had black fill. After about 3mos the black filled coil failed. I replaced it with another BWD coil and it got the car running, but not as good as it did with the oem coil. Just purchaed the c speck coil mentioned above from Mazmart...and OMG!!! WHAT A COMPLETE DIFFERENCE! Car runs 10 times better than it did with those BWD coils. Maybe I just got a bad bunch, but if I had it to do over again, I wouldn't mess with those BWDs...only good thing about them is the lifetime warranty, but what's that worth if you gotta change the damn things every 6 mos or so. Not to mention, Mazmart has the factory coil for much cheaper than the dealership.

mazmart is the best place to get factory stuff without dealership's rip off price

LOL!! U know what man...who knows. When I got them, they were just thrown in the box, no plastic wrap around them or anything...like they just toss em in a box and off they went. Yeah, Mazmart has saved my *** a couple times. I had to get another screen for the air intake...and I was NOT about to buy another air box for just that screen...they found a busted air box, but the horn part was fine...saved me a shitload of money!!!
