Hey guys,
Just ran into a problem a few minutes ago. Noticed my A/C was intermittently blowing warm, then starting blowing warm altogether on my last drive. The problem just popped up. I popped the hood with the engine running and the first thing I noticed was a click every 10-15 seconds (I imagine A/C relay turning fan on?) fan runs for maybe .5 seconds and another click and its off. That cycle continues and the fan doesn't seem to actually ever really start. I suspect this is the reason my A/C is not cold. I am going to check the relay first, but I was under the impression that if the relay was clicking then the relay should be ok, and was wondering if anyone else had any suggestions to look at beyond that. Hopefully the owner's manual tells which relay is which![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Other things of note: When I noticed the air was warmer than it should, I was on my way to the ATM to take out some cash. I left the car running, with the A/C running as well when i parked. Did the transaction and walking back to my car and in front of it, it sounded as if the fans were running full blast. I got in my car and I had A/C, as normal.
My drive home, the air went warm again and in my parking spot @ my apartment, I popped the hood and heard the clicking and felt as if the fan was not turning in. At this point the A/C was blowing warm.
Additionally, new engine was installed by the dealership last week, 70 miles on new engine. Figured that may be an important tidbit as well :D
Thanks for reading guys, any insight or suggestions are welcome!
Best regards,
Michael

Quick update. Went out to the car and started it up, A/C was working. Popped hood, pulled fuse box cover and found the 4 relays that might be of interest thanks to the diagram on the cover. Cooling fan 1, cooling fan 2, cooling fan 3, and A/C. Got back in the car to see if the air was still cold; and it was. As the vehicle continued to warm up, the fan tried to start kicking on again. Same as before.. click, try to turn on, click, turns off and the a/c is now blowing warm.
I guess my first question, which is the relay that controls the A/C fan? My best guess is cooling fan 1 is the radiator fan, cooling fan 2 is a/c fan, cooling fan 3 controls fan after car shuts off? and a/c relay, I'm not sure at this point what that is for. Haven't really had much time to think this through but figured out I run it by you guys.
Thanks again,
Michael

Had some time to think and research. I think the a/c clutch is trying to engage and after the a/c is on for a bit, the high pressure safety switch may be making the the clutch disengage right away, hence the clicking sound that I'm getting. I suppose it could be an overcharge/undercharge of freon. Methinks a trip back to the dealer might be in hand.
