One of guys from the ally fab shops that builds custom piping for some diesel intercooler systems for us took me out to lunch Monday and I showed him some pictures of the Mazdaspeed CAI. He laughed when he saw the price and said they need to triple what they are charging us.

The main reason people are going with the mazdaspeed intake, is because it can't cause any questions about warrenty work. The AEM intake, is the exact same intake pretty much...and is cheaper.

 

Good point. I'll check with one of our decal printers to see if I can get some of them made, and maybe look into the OEM air Filter as well. That way the dealer won't be able to tell them apart.

 

Finally got my CAI system complete including the Mazdaspeed decal. It cost me a grand total of $174, $38 of that being the set-up cost for printing the decal. The one subsitute was a knock off of the K&N air filter, virtually identical except it was $23 less.
