Can anyone tell me what this is...

... and how feasible it is to replace it myself.

The part I'm asking about is the black airdam thing under the front fender. The arrow is pointing at in the photo below.

You can also see the parking block and the piece of rebar sticking out (circled.) Unfortunately, I didn't see the rebar and parked over it. The picture below shows the damage.

Does anyone know if I can buy this part and install it without having access to a shop? I am pretty handy with tools and assembling and what not. I'd just don't want to take it to a dealer and pay an arm and a leg, and have no control over the quality of the repair.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

i picked up a replacement one from one of the advertisers here a couple years back and slapped it on myself the following weekend. Took all of maybe 45 minutes to install. Make sure you order the little plastic clippy things as I'm sure you'll need a few.

i cant tell from the pictures if the one on there is actually broken or if it just popped off the bottom of the bumper. you might try just reattaching the screws if possible.

Well, if it isn't broken I think it's bent out of shape. I'll check it, but I think I'll want a replacement. Thanks for the input, though.

The shipping costs on that item can be pricey because of it's size. Mazmart is a little closer to you. You may want to compare there price + shipping in comparison to what ever on-line site you select.

i think it can be fixed without buying anything. i have and my undertray come loose driving on the freeway and dragging it a couple miles. just bought some bolts and made sure it was tightened this time. and if it still looks out of shape you can either use a blow dryer [heat gun = better] and shape it back.

to me it doesnt look damaged at all, just a bit bent. [theres a reason why its made out of flexible material.

Yeah, not paying a lot for shipping - or not buying stuff at all - are definitely a bonus. I'll crawl under there and take a better look. Maybe it's not completely borked.

Thanks.

I had this problem as well and I just took a drill and zip tied the plastic pieces together. Mine looked way worse and was cracked in many places an now I looks like new. It's a quick and simple fix if you don't want to spend much money

Well, I took a steep exit from a parking lot, not knowing how steep it was, and just smashed that same part under the front end. So, while I certainly appreciate the input on fixing it before, it's toast now. I need to get a new one.

But thanks to everyone's replies, I at least know that I can install it myself.
