Car door wont open
Hi All,
Having a problem with my drivers side door and wondered if anyone new what could be the matter.
I cant seem to unlock the door from the inside or outside. The key wont unlock it manually nor the electronic remote?
Any suggestions what I do to open it?
Many thanks

It's a rare thing that happens and isn't a Mazda-specific thing. After many months of my driver side door not opening, I was finally able to open it by myself and save $500. Less than a handful of others on this forum have solved this issue, and one notable person is Grace_Excel.

Most probably, one of the springs inside the lock actuator mechanism [which is located back where the front doors lock into the steel ring on the rear door (called a striker)]. There are many steps to getting the door open but rest assured you can do it. You'll need to put a large chunk of hours aside. In my opinion, it's much less stressful if you do each part on a separate day [(1) removing door panel screws, (2) partially removing the door panel, (3) unscrewing and pulling back the black plastic panel that's behind the door panel and taking the window glass out, (4) cutting the black plastic casing of the lock actuator mechanism and opening the door and then removing the lock actuator, and (5) shopping for a similar spring and possibly cutting it to size and fabricating a loop.
Or you can get hold of me or Grace_Excel to help you. We both live in Los Angeles.
