the car bogs down bad

i dont know if its the engine or transmission or what

mike: Bob took over as the Parts and Service manager at Tustin recently (Jennifer is now at HB Mazda since it was purchased by John Patterson)

He's a reasonable guy, convince him to look at the cat and do a compression test.

When did Gil leave?? I liked him but he was kind of scatter brained. (for some reason, he's always forget to add things to my service order)

I think I dealt with Cory once, but don't really remember. Either way, talk to Bob if you can. He was a forum vendor here for a little while, I think he'd signed up as OCmazdaspeed or something like that. (when he was managing the parts dept)

I was down there yesterday picking up some crush washers when I heard that Bob had been promoted. Hopefully they can figure out what's wrong

Mike that is so incredibly frustrating. I feel for you.

I had a slightly similar problem to yours (I think you're a manual, though, and I'm auto) and my entire engine is being replaced. I know you're not under warranty so that's not exactly an affordable option for you...

You really have to ask them to do the cat as its a pain in their collective asses. I had similar issues, although my car was an mt. I've had the cat, coils, plugs and vent tsb performed. The car is perfect now. Mine had all those go bad in 11k from new.

mikeb.

with your join date i dont know how you dont know what is going on..

you are the king of likely motor failure.. if getting a new motor puts you off the car so be it..

but it will fix the problem you have been dealing with..

i also did not know you were out of warranty.. but it is a recall so you might have some leverage with mazda...

the last flash will keep it from happening again.. or so they say..

I'm willing to bet that if it is the motor, that Mazda will replace it, warranty or no warranty.

Keep your hopes alive

I sort of hoping the motor ends up being the culprit. (because it'll be FREE and hopefully fix all your problems)

Any update? haha, don't make me call Tustin Mazda and find out on my own...

damn...WTF?!
Maybe they reset the ECU and it'll just take a few drive cycles to smoothen out.
