Car value

Whats up fellow rx8 drivers. I have an 04 silver rx8 M/T. 29000 miles with a greddy turbo kit. Tuned by mazdamaniac and professionally installed. Car is fully loaded with nav and everything. No door dings or anything. What do you guys think I can get for this car if i decide to sell it? Only aftermarket things are the turbo kit and a Greddy oil pan plus accessport.

thanks

Hard to say, especially in this market. It's ultimately what the market will bear.

I would see what similar 04's are going for, then add the cost of parts and labor for the turbo, oil pan, accessport, and tuning.

If no one else is going to stick their neck out and name a figure, I will. As a nub, I have nothing to lose.

$12,000

You will NOT get anything for the mods. Unless you find a sucker.

I am going to say sub-$10k

I beg to differ on the mods. An average joe or carmax won't pay extra, but someone who knows what they are looking for will.

That's the reason I bought the RX that I did. It had lots of extras, so it stood out from the bunch. A turbo is a big deal and a major selling point thanks to the horsepower upgrade from a stock RX.

If it was my car, I wouldn't take anything less than 15k. You might have to wait for a while. But I think a very good selling point is your very low miles, and the turbo of course...

You will have to be careful and get lucky to get a decent price. Try showing up at car meets this summer and let it be known you're interesting in selling. My rule-of-thumb is that on the open market, you take the normal cars.com used car price, then subtract half the cost of the mods from that value. Sad, but pretty much true. That's why you see so many parting-out ads from guys returning their car to stock before selling.
