Cat on it's way out I take it

Over the past week or two when driving my car around town I've noticed the interior has gotten hotter than it normally does. Because it's been pretty hot I've always just figured it was the outside heat. Tonight it was 50 degrees out and I still had to turn the A/C on inside my car so I figured something was up. I've also noticed as of late that after I park my car it smells really hot. It's a hard thing to describe, but when something is to the point of burning it has a very distinct smell of just pure heat and my car has smelled that way. Anyhoo, I parked in a parking lot tonight that had all of it's lights off and looked underneath my car to see what the car looked like. The whole unit itself wasn't glowing, but the bung for the O2 sensor was nice and orange. My fiancee looked underneath and spotted the same thing immediately as well.

The car idles fine and doesn't feel down on power, but the heat as of late inside the car has been pretty damn annoying and when I parked the car tonight it once again had that smell of insane heat. Coils and plugs were replaced around 4,000 miles ago BTW.

I take it the cat is on it's way out? All the threads I searched for talked about the cat itself glowing and usually a CEL to go along with it but, outside of my air pump CEL, I don't have a code for that and the car runs like a champ. My Borla cat-back has gotten a lot louder as of late which I thought was strange though?

Looks like I'll be installing the Supercat sitting downstairs a little quicker than I thought.

Get the dealership to give you a new cat first under warranty (if you're still under warranty)
Order the new supercat as soon as they say it's covered. Then, if you ever decide to sell it you can put the new cat on and put "brand new cat" in the description.

Probably not going to happen. I can't really take the car to the dealership until I fix the air pump (I'm waiting on another one to arrive). The cat really started acting up today (the idle will randomly drop every once in a while) so the car is parked until Tuesday when a local shop will swap the mid-pipe out for me. I won't be getting another air pump until the end of the week from my understanding.

I'll probably just cut the thing and have it as a backup should the Supercat fail.
