CEL issues, need a little assistance

Hey, I have 3 codes on my car. I looked at the sticky on the CEL codes for the RX-8 and they came up as

P0139 - Rear HO2S circuit slow response ON 2 HO2S
P0456 - EVAP System Leak detected (very small leak) ON 2 EVAP System
P2096 - Target A/F feedback too lean ON 2 Fuel System

I do not have a cat on the car so I know one of them is a result of that, I am pretty sure its the P0139.
The Lean code, may be because of the BHR ignition kit making it lean? I am not too sure on this.
The EVAP leak, is a bit curious as I wouldn't even know where to begin with that.

When I was at the dealership they said my car was running rich and they could smell it from just letting the car idle due to the fact that I have no cat. They said that I could scar the housing surface if it keeps running rich like that. Many people have told me the same thing (about the rich smell) and that once the car is tuned it'll take care of that. I don't know if this is true so I turn to the rest of you for guidance. If this is already posted could you please post a link to that thread so I could research for myself? Thank you very much, as always.

have you filled up with fuel recently? Could be that your cap isn't on tight, causing an evap leak.
I don't believe that the BHR ignition would make it run lean. check your O2 sensors and MAF sensor

Small evap leak is commonly the gas cap

P2096 is usually caused be a small vac leak....check to see that your VFAD nipple is plugged

As for the smell....welcome to a rotary engine withiout a CAT

You guys won't believe this.

I have a O2 sensor fooling thing which screws onto the O2 sensor. Its basically a female to male extension with another female to male extension with a small hole at the end which plugs into the O2 sensor thing in the midpipe. I thought the O2 sensor was bad so I took it out, it took forever and I punched myself in the face when the wrench slipped, but I got it out and looked at it and I didn't know what I was looking at. So what I did was I put it back in with just one extension with the wider opening and put it back in and today the check engine light went off and all the codes were gone! I also did the spark plugs while I was at it and a new intake filter.

Nice work.

The 'fooler' may not work, long term, but you may get lucky.

Ok, so it came back on. DAMN! I got a new custom exhaust on and it showed up shortly after. I don't know why. I just gotta get it tuned. When I tried to do that, I didn't have the right connector to the Serial port for the Microtech.
