cel p0031

I have an error code reading P0031 -front o2 sensor. While replacing the clutch I managed to pinch the wires running along the trans. One wire was cut in half the other appeared to never have been touched. my father fixed the wire with solider and I figured we were good but i guees not. can annyone tell me exactly which(color) wire would give me the cel. Also my access port will not read afr or stft. how big of a deal is it that the cel is there this is my only car and i have been without it for a mth so is it safe to drive?

Any of the 4 wires going to the front O2 sensor could cause that CEL.
How did you manage to get the harness in between the motor and the tranny?

Just pull the harness off of the tranny (all of the connectors and hold-downs), disconnect it from the sensors and pull it back through the engine compartment so that you can get a good look at it.

Driving your car that way wont "hurt" it, but why would you want to?
Many of the race teams remove both sensors completely. It just means you are running off of the native fuel maps all the time, which means you are probably quite rich under 4800 RPM all the time.

Well, that is understandable.
Its shooting for 13:1 with no load and 12:1 everywhere else.
I wouldn't be surprised if your idle AFR is 12:1 or less.
