FYI, it appears that question 68 from the Atkins Rotary FAQ has been removed. I had emailed asking his reasoning in the answer he gave and haven't received an email as of yet but it was down when I looked today.

I hope he didn't change his mind, lol. Just kidding of course.
So then, I'm feeling pretty safe purchasing that Sohn oil adapter now (since the most of the injected oil won't find its way into the oil pan).

That's not it at all. But removing it does remove the premise for the original post.
I knew the answer couldn't possibly be totally correct since I notice a lot of increase oil consumption when I drive harder.
But I didn't want 2 cycle mixed with motor oil, which was my number one concern since I'm not so sure that'd be a good think for bearings, etc.

man, u probably did. i got annoyed reading wat u posted. u were trying to argue a point that you read from an internet "FAQ" against these people who are more experienced, owned a lot more rotary, and work on more rotary engine than u have ever touched.
and lets not bring being an engineer ever into discussion, being an engineer does not mean **** really. it just means that you put 4,5 years into college in the engineering school. and u could even be civil, electrical, chemical, petroleum engineer, and none of those will really help you with understanding anything here. that being said, i am not flamming u, i am gonna be an engineer (senior year, ME, thermal-fluid concentration)
and lets not bring being an engineer ever into discussion, being an engineer does not mean **** really. it just means that you put 4,5 years into college in the engineering school. and u could even be civil, electrical, chemical, petroleum engineer, and none of those will really help you with understanding anything here. that being said, i am not flamming u, i am gonna be an engineer (senior year, ME, thermal-fluid concentration)

I'm not sure why you want to be an engineer when it "does not mean **** really". I'm not sure what's the reasoning behing your post here, esp since I admitted I posted, probably more than once, that I was trying to learn from their experience. Oh, and my engineering specialty is electronics design, I know little about car engines. And lastly, I didn't bring up being an engineer, I was told I wasn't thinking like one.
As far as flaming me, lol....I'll just leave that one alone also.

In fact, any thoughts of along the lines of knuckledragger never crossed my mind.
I would like to know if Mr. Atkins attends these events or is he just one of us dumb *** engineers, who don't mean ****? Maybe he's just an EE, we only know volts, amperes and watts. Oh but wait a minute, P = VI and HP = P/746 so I guess it's all related eh?

Psh, Engineers are cool, rockstars even (automotive ones anyways, electrical engineers are like... famous classical musicians... ) I'd love to go get a degree in an engineering field...but I just can't get over the fact that I'm paying out of my pocket to get an engineering degree and I have to take liberal arts classes as well, paying dearly in my wallet for it
The most difficult quarter in my college days...I had the following classes
1. Microelectronics II (analog analysis and design)+ Lab
2. Signals and Systems (basically, an applied math class)
3. Microprocessors II (architecture/assembly language programming) + Lab
4. Power Systems (rotating machines and power distribution)
5. Electromagnetics II (another applied math class)
A lab gets you 1 credit hour and might cost you 40 hours in a week.
I think that was 20 hours...and a serious bitch. A class in american literature would've been welcomed.

1. I'm betting this thread lead to the removal of #68 prompted by BMonkey asking them about it.
2. Charles, you should be offended, he unwittingly said I cannot learn anything from you.
3. What part of "Long term testing under tightly contolled conditions with large sample sizes will yield outcomes that are useful to predict the behavior of these engines. I'm trying to use your communicated collective experiences in place of that." do you not understand? I wrote it in a previous post, long before the one where I referred to Atkins deleting #68.
4. With the reasoning ability you've displayed in your previous two posts, you should take a long hard look at your career choice. If you don't improve, you won't survive it unless you get one of those pencil pushing jobs that are engineering in title only. Engineering school is easy. There is no partial credit in the real world.
5. You should take a remedial english/writing class. The ability to communicate through written text is far more important than those with limited experience would understand. You write like a knuckledragger.
6. Write one more stupid post like the previous two (stupid irrespective of the almost broken english) and I'll not respond to it. You read like a knuckledragger.
7. If you read this post, you lied. You said you were done with this thread. If you lied and read it then my writing this will not have been a waste of time....unless of course you don't take the advice given in number 5.

Oh jeeze, I forgot a couple of things
I started this thread because there are several on this site, 3 of whom responded, who have a great deal of experience and I'd think their input was valuable. Otherwise, to expect only responses that were not valuable, I'd not have wasted my time.
Also, and the fact that I have to point this out almost proves it's a waste of time, the Atkins FAQ#68 is a document posted on a site that advertises the services of people who are presumably experts. It wasn't picked up on you tube.
I started this thread because there are several on this site, 3 of whom responded, who have a great deal of experience and I'd think their input was valuable. Otherwise, to expect only responses that were not valuable, I'd not have wasted my time.
