Charge light on
Well this is weird.
Normally I don't have the stock dash in. I use a datalogger with a tablet for a race dash. But I had to plug the stock dash in tonight while I check other things. And my charging light is on.
I put in a new battery tonight. The old one gave its last after several years of very hard service. With the car idling, I see 14.2-14.4v at the battery, the alternator, and from an OBDII scanner.
I'm inclined to say, 'this is not really an issue,' but I thought I'd poll the forum here. Let me know if you have any advice. Thanks!

Usually a charge indicator light is the sign of a failing alternator. I would test it with a multimeter and see the exact output voltage at the alternator. I would also be inclined to remove it and have it tested just to be sure its good. The issue could also be wiring related, especially if you have removed the dash. There are probably a lot of things are are not plugged in and this could cause some odd issues.
