Unhappy clicking noise...very confused

hi. this is my first post, and i am extremly ignorant about cars.
i've had the worst experience with the dealership and mazda corporate trying to get my extended warrenty... so i'm kind of bitter about that. anyway a month after i got the rx-8 started hearing clicking spring noise when i first start the car and turn. the dealer told me it was just the Anti lock brake system kicking in. ??? if this is the case wouldn't i have hear the noise from the beginning? completely clueless. please help.

If it's a loud, kinda funky sounding "clonk" when you first move the car after starting it then its just the ABS.

Yeah, agreed.

I have heard mine from day one, and have consulted with not only the dealer, but people that talk to mazda directly. It's 100% normal, but it's a funky sound.

Don't know why you haven't heard it from day one.

It is more of a droning noise like a bass note, but a bit higher on the "bass" scale.

It is definately not a "clicking" noise.

I have got the same issue.

I've taken it up with my dealer and now the area representative from Mazda is involved. I tried to demonstrate to him at the dealership but sound was very faint as the car was warm.

He is calling into my house in the next week or so in the morning so he can get a really good listen.

It is definitely NOT the brake system clunk as it activates - more like a scraping sound when using the steering

I've read on this forum people have talked about clicking when turning, make sure your lug nuts are tightened all the way.
