I haven't been able to find anything in specific in the search to really answer my question.

I am trying to find if the Exedy MZK1002 is OEM Clutch Kit for the RX8.

I've tried calling the local Mazda Dealership, and he wasn't able to provide me with the info, as apparently they only replace the whole clutch assembly, and it he didn't have any info on it.

If anyone know the Part Number for the OEM clutch kit, I would be grateful. Thanks

 

That specific Exedy number? I have no idea.


However, the OEM clutch that I pulled out of my 8 a week ago sitting nex to me has Exedy etched into the clutch backing, and has 2 sets of characters 4CU8 and N318.

I can be reasonably sure it's OEM, since I bought my 8 with 8,600 miles, and the prior guy was an older businessman. I don't expect he replaced the new clutch just cause. No dealer records of it being replaced.

 

Alright, I am sure that's the right OEM clutch kit. As Exedy only makes 2 kits... the other being a "racing" heavy duty kit.

Exedy Part number 10803A is what just went into my 8 as a replacement to the OEM, and does say "racing". I wouldn't call it "heavy duty" though. About the same clutch feel, just a faster grab.
