Clutch suggestions..
Ok so I bought a brand new 07 rx8 at 2500 miles the clutch goes which I was pissed about because of course mazda isnt going to cover it. Than at 6500 miles the engines needs to be replaced just another problem but atleast covered and no money out of my pocket. So 200 miles later the clutchs goes yet again and of course mazda won't pay for it so I finnaly said screw it I know it isnt me driving the car wrong never had this problem with any other stick car I had before.
Does anyone know a good reliable clutch+ flywheel that wont burn a hole in my pocket? I have been looking at the act clutchs but I don't know how good they are had a friend use one in his honda but thats a honda not an rx8.

Wow. The stock clutch may not be the strongest unit in the world but they generally last more than 2500 miles! Maybe something else wrong. 200 miles for the replacement makes me suspect the mechanic more than the part. I'm going to believe you when you imply that you do not dump or drag the clutch.
If you go aftermarket, careful of the clutch force. The pedal bracket has been known to fail with stiffer clutches; I think there's an aftermarket replacement for that piece as well, with stronger construction.

Around the middle of the page. I don't see how it's possible to damage your clutch so soon, unless you're abusing the crap out of it or if there's a defect. But show that to your dealership, or go to another one.
If you do have to go aftermarket though, I'd say the ACT Street Performance and a light flywheel as a treat...I'll be getting that clutch and the Fidanza 8.5lb Flywheel installed soon.

I have the ACT Street/Strip Clutch and Prolite flywheel (I got the combo deal off rx7store.net). I am loving the flywheel! The clutch is a little firmer than stock (I believe the number is like +30%), but it's hardly noticeable. Engages very quickly, which is a plus as far as I'm concerned.
People say the prolite is hard to drive on the street / in traffic. I live in North NJ and go into NYC regularily. Took about 30 minutes to adjust to the new feel. I actually find it easier to start on inclines, since it reacts to throttle input faster.
Three thumbs up all the way!
