I don't know what MX-5 people you're talking too...most I know that have this shifter say it shifts worse than stock. As for installing one on a '09 tranny...I say wait until Richard Paul finishes up the Axial Flow shifter for the '09.

most here seem to like it. but it is cheap and i will move to axil flow if and when they make one.
