Coil grounding

Hi,I’ve searched and searched but I’ve been unable to find any suggestions on where to ground the stock coils.I have a 2007 MT RX8 with 3000 miles on a reman motor.Any suggestions would be appreciated,thanks

Based on the wiring diagram (page 10, http://foxed.ca/rx7manual/manuals/RX...Electrical.pdf) the OEM coils are grounded through the wire harness. The mounting boss on the coils is not connected to coil ground.

If you want to run a new ground for the coils, you'll have to modify the wiring harness or create an adapter. If you do this, you can combine the ground wires into a ring terminal and mount it to the unused threaded hole above the spark plugs on the front housing (the same hole on the rear housing should hold the knock sensor).

Coil grounding

Thanks for the responses.I think when the weather warms up I’ll get a Bennet coil set up that has a grounding wire with it.A side note-I sanded all the grounding sites I could find and applied a grounding set from Flex Innovations in black.There is a noticeable difference in idle,startups and general drive ability.No idle dips with air conditioning cycling.2007 RX8 MT.
