Thats probably the Front Rotor Trailing Coil. Not 100% sure so dont quote me on that.
if OBD-II can detect the failure, it should be REALLY *bad *. change it all out.
Your car should experience really shitty engine respond and tons of misfires before the coil goes completely dead.
and, have you ever change your plugs? cuz if the coil goes bad, it might foul the plugs.
so get all 4 coils, about 100 bucks, not that bad.
Original coils came with all 04 and some 05 suck ***. not like the revised one are Day N night differents, but better than the original design.

I cant help with those codes, not in any RX-8 manual I have. The usual code for misfires is P0301 and P0302. Parts are shipped worldwide from Onlinemazdaparts http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...?siteid=214264 of which I can say are excellent people to deal with. For example RX-8 ignition coils are about $28 each.
Good luck with your problem, hope you get it fixed quickly.

Is it possible to have failed coils without having a CEL?
I experience very much misfires rough idles but no CEL?
I changed all coils 13k kms before along with a new set of spark plugs?
Most of the miles are in the city which in summer is about 50celsious.
Anw.

Thats why Mazda has a guideline on how to check the coils with a multimeter.

I've been using mutimeter to test fault coil and new coil, but couldn't see any differents in point-to-point ohms...... I suspect my car is having coil problem but no CEL yet, misfire and jagged power dynoed at high rpm....
