Cold start flooding @ 30ishF & 8000'

For the second time parked at a ski resort my car had trouble starting.

The first time it started without initiating the flooded procedure.

The second time I had to hold the pedal to the floor before it would light.

Just a data point.

!!!

Very interesting!

The same thing happened to me in December - Lake Louise ski resort, parking lot at ~6000', temp ~10F. Definitely wasn't shut down cold (2 hr drive to get there), sat for 8 hours... I tried to start it with my ski boots on (just push the clutch in, not too hard), and it wouldn't catch on two trys. So, I got the boots off, and had to hold the throttle down to start it - it fired up almost instantly when I did that.

The only other ski day I did with the 8 (Sunshine Village), it started no problem.

Hmmmm....

Regards,
Gordon

When it started using the flooded procedure it produced a noticable amount of white smoke (fuel).
