Compression test - is it time yet?
I have an 04 with just under 60k, was wondering if I should have my local dealer do a compression test yet? It doesn't feel down on power, but then I have been reading about people who tested with too low numbers although they said it felt normal as well. Maybe I have been gradually losing power and haven't noticed?
I do my own oil changes, and I have a greddy oil pan, I wonder if that is enough for mazda to deny any replacement should it test low?

As long as you have receipts for all your oil/filters and have them in good order then they shouldn't deny you if it turns out to be a bad engine. They would have to prove the oil pan was the cause of your engine failure to deny based on that. I really doubt they could.
I know quite a few dealers dont even do compression tests any more, hopefully the ones around you do.

There's never a bad time for a compression test.
I do a compression test once a yr., just for piece of mind.
Your need to to show a record with receipts for the oil changes.
Oil pan will effect your warranty 99.9% of the time. Never mess with anything attached to the core and let the dealer see it. You'll be fighting an up hill battle.
