Cylinder 1 misfire
I just came back from the mechanic and he used the OBD2 sensor on my car cause the check engine light was on. The results that came back was that it was a cylinder 1 misfire code P0301. If anyone knows about what this means can you please let me know and also how i could fix this problem. The guy that checked the car said it was a bad plug or wire but i still dont know what that means.
Thanx

Up near the top you'll see a SEARCH drop down.
Enter in either "cylinder 1 misfire", "misfire 1", or even "P0301".
You'll find MANY threads on this topic.
If you don't even know what a bad plug or wire means, maybe you shouldn't be messing with it yourself.
If your car is still under warranty, just take it to the dealer.

Cylinder? I don't think we call them that on a rotary, they are chambers to my knowledge.
Basically a spark plug ignites the gas in the chamber and when the spark plug, or the wire that sends the electricity to the plug, is not working, then the fuel does not ignite and it is called a misfire. This can be caused by many things though, and not just a bad plug or wire. For example, my pluged catalytic converter caused my engine to misfire. What happened when it misfired, were you driving it hard? Was the check engine light blinking?

You're right, the misfire can be MANY things from plugs, wires, coils, cat... hell I just had one from water in the intake.
This is why I suggest if the car is still under warranty, let the dealer figure it out or search through the many threads related to the same failure to understand better what it happening.
