Darn Manual

Read only green for the question, read black if you are bored and want to read me rant.

So I gave up my arms a leg and sold my dog on ebay to get the damn Workshop Manual from mazda and the darn thing doesn't even go into the motor! Don't get me wrong its GREAT to have now because it gives me torque specs and proper order to dissasemble and a premo knowledge of my car, but darnit I wanted in depth rebuild of the 13b!

Has anyone picked up the "Engine Workshop Manual 13B-MSP"? I don't want to blow another crazy amount of money for a book not what I'm after. If you have this book, is it as good as the "Workshop Manual", but on the engine?

Also if any of you say Chiltons or Haynes imma be pissed. Those books are rediculous and written by people that don't know jack about the engineering behind the car. I'm sorry but "Shave a socket down to make the tool" is just not acceptible. Also I'm positive that (correct me if wrong) Chiltons or Haynes says to lift the motor through the top of the car. Mazda designed the motor to be pulled through the bottom of the car......Great if you are after a cheap fix and just want to know how to change your oil, but that is all.

you dont own a printer?

download, print, 3-hole punch, insert into 3 ring binder....BAM prime dealership manual.

All our expensive manuals come in binders, did you get paperback or binder? The binder ones are so much more useful, no extra info the pages just stay open better and you can insert notes permanently if you have a hole punch, ala all my rotary documentation

That is the way I print up all of my motorcycle manuals, but those are much easier to locate and everything is in one book through and through lol...
I still haven't found a "Free version of it". With that being said I assume you do have the book. Is it indept on the wankel with good pictures through and through with solid part numbers? I've read through the Workshop manual and really like it, just as said before I want that complexity, but on the motor.
As for printing I do it for a living lol. I did get the paper back, but I'm ok with that because if it does bother me I can just slice the spine and it already is 3 hole punched.

Compared to the price of the car, I don't see how buying a manual (on Ebay, nonetheless) is "a crazy amount of money". The workshop manual is over 1000 pages, iirc. Thats 2 reams of paper, an ink cartridge and way too much of my friggin' time.

I just recieved mine from mazdatrix today. It's a HUGE stack of paper. It comes with the "Engine 13B-MSP Workshop Manual" as a seperate book as well as the "stack of paper" that is the workshop manual that I need to find a big binder for. GL finding just the Engine part.

^ FSM?? Sorry I hate acroynms. But yeah I'd love a link to whatever it is.

*sigh* Everyone stop beating the horse....its dead....
My question wasn't the price or what color my toilet paper is....

Just curious on the content. Happy pictures everywhere with specific part numbers and tool numbers and very detailed step one through 10 of each section of the motor? And what sections to do when. I'm trying to avoid having to buy an engine and learn the wrong way to take it apart and put it back together over and over again (aka haynes or chilton or fly by forum)

Yeah pineapple racing I do believe it's a great video to watch, but little hard to use as an actual reference material. I may just have to drive out and pray the dealership has one I can browse through before I buy it.
