Does anybody know, if you can buy the dashboard unit that has the navigation - without replacing the ENTIRE dashboard? after seeing my friends Nav in his 8, I don't want to get one of those tomtom's or anything that has to attach to the window.

I',m looking for aftermarket websites where I could buy this from so I wouldn't have to go through a Mazda dealer...

you will have to remove the dash. it is just the housing. you will have to add the monitor and a carputer..

^ thats not an oem unit. it doesnt have the button and motor that pops the lcd up.

rotary, one guy did a nav swap into his car. he had to take out the entire interior of his car and it cost him $3000. its cheaper to just find a similar rx8 with nav and trade yours in.

 

dang, yeah trying to avoid having to trade it in lol - all I've found is the housing for like 350, and the screen for like 1100 but not all together... anybody got a parts car????
