Dealer Air Filter vs Aftermarket. Any Substitution??
Has anyone tried or does anyone know if you can Substitute the Stock Dealer Only Air Filter for a Fram or other type of filter. We pulled ours out today and it looks stock with 10K on it and dirty as can be. I called all the Auto Parts stores and it appears this is a Dealership Item only and they want $60 bucks for it. I was just wondering if there is a alternative Filter out there that is the same size that will fit. Or is there a Reason it HAS to be a Dealer Filter Only?

you can always get a K&N drop in filter for it. Those thing never need to be replaced, just cleaned once a year.

You are truly the Master. I didn't even think about K&N filters. Too cool. I just checked out AutoAnything and they have them for $42.00. So, before it gets dark out, I'm going to clean this one (maybe with a hatchet and putty knife) put it back in until the New one arrives.
