Diagnosing clutch problems
Hey,
So 2006 5 speed manual, was out in it a few months ago drifting and I lost my clutch pedal, it went down and wouldn't come back up. I'm relatively inexperienced with transmissions so forgive the lack of correct terms.
So i've replaced the master and slave cylinder, removed the pedal and inspected the assembly, i'm in the process of trying to bleed all the air out of the system, i've got a partial pedal back,it still feels like there is barely enough pressure to spring the pedal back up, but it does come, but i'm beginning to think they aren't my issues anyway.
So I had my son sit in the drivers seat and press on the clutch pedal, and I saw no movement on the slave cylinder, even with a partially bled system i'd expect to see some movement. So it got me wondering, so I got a breaker bar, and tried to push the bracket that the cylinder is trying to push back, to see if it will move, and it doesn't (I'm assuming it's the fork for the clutch release bearing), now i'm just not sure at this point if my issue is just I need to finish bleeding the system and it should all be okay, or have I got other issues. I'm trying to avoid removing the gearbox since I only did an oil change before the event it blew out and that was about $100 worth of oil that i'd rather not drain.
There is definitely fluid making it to the slave cylinder too, I had my son press on the pedal and undid the bleed nipple and I got a good squirt of fluid, so there is definitely pressure in there, but it just doesn't seem to be enough to push the fork.

the clutch can be a real pita to bleed on an 8. i dont see a reason to drain the oil if you are replacing clutch parts. btw if your pedal isnt broke i suggest welding the bracket while you have it out of the car. it will evently break

Already did weld it whilst it was out, someone else suggested the same earlier.
Any tips on bleeding it? so far I've been doing it with a syringe sucking from the bleed bipple, mostly because none of my pressure bleeders fit the reservoir. I'm gonna try with a vacuum bleeder tomorrow instead.
