A different way to program your key fob?

Hi All,

I really hope that this hasn't already been covered. I've read through several threads, while searching the forum, but not found any reference to the following:

I purchased my flip key on Ebay for my '05 RX8. (The car came with only 1 flip key.)
The new remote came different instructions then ones listed in this DIY. These instructions involve entering an "8 Digit Security Code", (which I assume is acquired from the dealership) to program the Immobilizer with "one or no programmed keys"
The instructions are in PDF format, and look to me as though they are official Mazda documentation? (I don't know though.)
I'm happy to post the instructions here, but would only do so providing everyone is in agreement that it's cool to do that? (I guess I'm worried that I might be leaking something that could used by car thieves?)

Anyway my questions:
1.) Is anyone aware of these instructions (that involve an 8 digit security code)?
2.) Will the Mazda dealership just hand over your code? I'm assuming that you would need to provide proof that it's your car. But one would assume that the code belongs to you, since you own the car?

Thanks in advance, and I apolgize if this has already been covered somewhere else.

Thanks,

Chris

I'm going to post it, because I think alz0rz has a good point, plus I've not received any replies to this post, so I'm assuming that people think I'm either full of crap, or just plain stupid.

I'd really appreciate any insight...

Thanks,

Chris
