Disposable Oil Funnel

Disposable Oil Funnel
One thing I couldn't stomach with the RX-8 oil, was the idea of having a dirty oil funnel rolling around in the trunk somewhere...
I seemed to remember seeing disposable paper funnels somewhere. Googling, chemical supply places have expensive ones, but aircraft supply catalogues carry cheaper ones.
This is one of the cheapest I found. I thought buying 3 packs might last me forever, but everytime I meet an 8 owner at an AutoX, I hand them one. At this rate I'll have to reorder soon.

yea,
i used to use the small yellow legal pad paper that i keep in my glove box to record mpg and the other to record service work i have done to my car. but i have found out with a bit of practice i can pour right from the container if it is asymetrical in design.
beers

I fly light planes, and, the oil fill points are typically difficult to access (w/o spilling oil everywhere), so, I use a plastic nozzle with a shutoff valve on it that scews onto the 1 qt oil containers. To keep from getting oil all over my other groovy (expensive) pilot stuff in my flight bag, I keep it in a gallon ziploc bag w/ some paper towels to absorb the excess runoff... You could do the same thing with a small plastic funnel...
Honestly, the oil fill in the '8 is so easy to get to, I usually don't need a funnel if the qt. container is partially used - I keep one in my garage that way and partly refill it as needed...
I'd never seen the paper funnels for sale - it's a nice tip...
Lotsa ways to skin a cat... <g>
