if i were to take the exhaust off my car and just have the race pipe only, would that reduce the amount of pressure that flows from the engine resulting in mechanical failure or a loss in hp? the cat blew out on my cat and its rattling up and down the pipe man its annoying sounding. it sounds like i have a chain link fence rolling up and down my car whenever i start and stop. I wouldnt mind taking everything out but the race pipe and just running through a straight race pipe, but at the same time I dont want to do it if itll decrease hp or ruin my car even more. has anyone else done this? if so please describe the outcome of this event. lol eventually i would put the whole system back on in like a week bt im low on time and that sound is bugging the heck out of me.

 

I do believe the warranty on the cat is 8yr/80k. If it is bad take it to mazda.
