Lightbulb Dodge viper engine

So this is a shot in the dark,

But what do you think about putting a 8L v10 Dodge Viper engine in the rx8? I have an engine and transmission and was just wondering is it possible.

Don't know if it would physically fit, that's a monster engine. But if it does fit then it's more of a matter of how much money do you have sitting around?

A friend of mine put on ein an SN95 mustang and still had to cut and rework the firewall to get it to fit. To my knowledge there is more room in the mustang engine bay then in the RX8. Dont thin it would fit without some major reworking of the entire car

I'd imagine that the bell housing would sit about where the shifter sits in the car currently if you wanted to have the engine behind the front core support.

Anything is possible with money, but this one is a stretch.

From this pic you can see how far it sits back in the SN95 car. I think it would be way way to far back for hte RX8

It's a POS engine anyway, why even bother? If you have to upgrade do it right.

Why does the motor have to mount in the front? I say the trunk is bigger but you won't be able to use the transmission.

Ignore the naysayers, just mount it traversely like in a MR car. You can do that much easier than other cars because we have SUICIDE DOORS!!!!

That is a big *** engine. There is absolutely no way of fitting that in an 8 without some extreme modifications to both the chasis and body.
