Hi, Im new to this wonderful club and car, had rex 231 for 2mths now.Just decided to take rex for dyno test, to my shock and horror figures are BAD, here goes!!
motor pow 191.3hp @ 7224 rpm
wheel power 173.3
eng torque 142.7 @5975rpm
Car as 34000 on clock full mazda service history ,2005 spec.
Can anyone shed light on power loss please

you may be down a few ponies that you could get back with good coils/plugs/wires but the average stock 8 dyno is 170-185ish at the wheels. hitting 200 N/A is a respectable number. The highest we've seen here by a N/A member is just over 220whp, and that was pretty much custom everything bolt-on and some very good tuning.
the best way to judge the health of your motor is a proper compression test.
